Bring home the Maveli
Onam remembers.

Ten days of pookalam, sadya, snake boats and more — cast in hand-painted resin, so the homecoming never really ends. A collection of Kerala's story pieces, made by MemoryTrain.

Every Chingam, Kerala waits for its king.

Legend holds that Mahabali, the ruler whose reign made every household equal, was sent to rule the netherworld—but was granted one visit home each year. Onam is that homecoming: ten days of flowers and feasting, with boat races that fill the season on the backwaters. This collection turns that story, and the traditions that surround it, into pieces you can keep on a shelf long after Thiruvonam has passed.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Grant me only three steps of land, asked the boy — then grew until his stride crossed the whole universe, and a king offered his own head for the third step.

King Mahabali (Maveli) once ruled Kerala's golden age of equality and abundance. Humbled but never forgotten, he returns each Chingam to see how his people are keeping — and Onam is the ten days Kerala spends welcoming him home.

FROM OUR FOUNDER

Every festival deserves its own keepsakes.

Christmas has its ornaments. Diwali has its diyas. Paul, MemoryTrain's founder, believes Onam deserves the same. Hear him explain why in his own words.
