Backstory

When Unni's plane touched down in Kochi, the sight of Kerala’s lush green canopy stirred something deep within him. As he waited at the luggage belt, emotions bubbled—eager, unsure, and full of longing. Outside, the sun wrapped him in familiar warmth as cousins and his sister Deepa enveloped him in laughter and tight embraces.

The drive to the Tharavadu—the ancestral home—was a blur of winding roads and overflowing stories. With every passing tree and bend, memories came rushing back: climbing mango trees with cousins, listening to stories whispered by aunts, learning life’s lessons in the gentle presence of his grandparents.

At the Tharavadu, the entire family awaited him. Aunts, uncles, and his aging grandparents welcomed him with steaming cups of tea and crisp pazham pori. Laughter echoed through the old tiled halls as tales of childhood mischief and long-forgotten monsoons were passed around like heirlooms.

Unni felt time soften. The walls of the Tharavadu—once just brick and memory—now pulsed with life, anchoring him to generations of love, resilience, and tradition. As twilight painted the sky in hues of gold, he knew this wasn’t just a visit.

This was a homecoming.
