Some cities are made of moments you didn't plan to remember.

The station clock tower that's the first and last thing you see, red brick against the sky, a porter balancing your whole journey on his head. The hill church at the end of a winding road, its dome catching the light while a plane waits on the runway below. The rock that has held its story since before memory was a word - a boulder that shouldn't stay put, and somehow always has. The market gate, arched and ornate, opening onto stalls of fruit and cloth and everything in between.

This is Chennai, held together by four of its oldest markers.

The Icons of Chennai Collection is the fifth chapter in the Echo Series. Each piece is a handcrafted collectible magnet, hand-painted to hold the detail of a place that has watched the city change around it and stayed exactly where it was.

For anyone who's passed through one of these four and felt, if only for a second, the city hold still.

Backstory

Chennai Central - Red brick, twin clock towers, and a porter carrying more luggage than seems possible, balanced on his head as he has for generations. An auto-rickshaw idles at the curb. This is where every journey through the city begins and ends for most of us.

St. Thomas Mount - A church at the top of a winding road, rising above the trees while a plane waits on the runway below. Faith and flight, sharing the same hillside view.

Mahabalipuram - Krishna's Butter Ball, a boulder the size of a room, resting on a slope it should have rolled down centuries ago. Beside it, Arjuna's Penance, a rock face carved with gods, sages, and elephants - a story in stone that has outlasted every dynasty that came to see it.

Moore Market - Red arches, white trim, spires against the sky. Beneath them, stalls spilling over with fruit, spice, and cloth - a scene from the market that once stood beside Central Station, gone now, but never quite forgotten.

A station, a hill, a rock, and a market that lives on only in memory - four icons of a city that keeps moving.
